Corporate Social Initiatives

Improving the lives of others is what we do at Life Healthcare – and we have taken it one step further with the Life Foundation, by demonstrating the importance of corporate social investment.

Our Projects

We have three main areas of focus where our CSR activities make a tangible difference in South Africa: education, community upliftment and health.

Our programmes are both local and national, with community involvement at a local level and strategically relevant programmes at a national level.

Our Services

Education

Education

We have two education initiatives, both of which encourage students in the medical field:

  • Life sub-specialist bursaries
  • The Public Health Enhancement Fund(PHEF)

Community Uplift

Community Upliftment

The Life Sizanani employee involvement programme is one of our most inspiring CSR projects: in existence for over 15 years with 78 projects ongoing and a high level of employee engagement.

Health

Health

We have focused on four different areas to change the lives of those with various health conditions:

  • Life sub-specialist bursaries
  • The Public Health Enhancement Fund(PHEF)
  • The Sunflower Fund
  • Move-it, Moving Matters

Community Involvement

Our employee involvement programme has been in existence for over 15 years and has touched the lives of many disadvantaged children.

Each support function adopts and supports a children’s organisation in an effort to improve their lives in some way.

The maximum allocation from head office is R14,500 per annum, with the balance of funds raised through donations.

There are currently 78 CSR projects running.

Employees and their supporting organisations jointly decide on CSR projects.

Examples of CSR projects include painting the facility, replacing windows and purchasing major appliances.
